Veselin Genov is born in the town of Burgas, Bulgaria. Upon his graduation from the Naval Academy in Varna, he joined Navigation Maritime Bulgare. From 1989 to 1991, Captain Genov was Navigation Maritime Bulgare’s representative in Genoa, Italy and afterwards he established the Bulgarian-Italian company Navimed, based in Venice, with main activities including ship agency and brokerage. In 1998, he returned to Bulgaria and founded Varna Shipping and Trading, of which he is now the major shareholder and managing director.
