HISTORY

Varna Shipping and Trading (VST Varna) JSC was founded as a private company in 1998 by Capt. Vesselin Genov. In the beginning, the Company’s sole activity was ship brokerage. Nevertheless, the company grew rapidly in the years to follow and greatly expanded the scope of its services and number of employees. As a result of the expansion, Varna Shipping and Trading decided to transfer some supportive branches of its business to subsidiary companies and focus on its immediate priorities. Thus, VST Varna achieved a high degree of specialization, while offering a broad range of shipping and other related services.
On the third year of VST Varna’s existence, Vesem Ltd. was established to provide a complete range of agency services. During the same year, Vestro Ltd. was set up, whose main activities include investing in real estate, property management, and real estate consulting. The company is the actual owner and manager of VST Varna’s office buildings. A year later, in 2002, Blue Sea Marine Services Ltd. was founded. It is specialized in providing technical maintenance, ship repairs, ship supply and manning. The youngest of the affiliated companies, Recorda Control and Services Ltd., was established in 2004 to provide a full range of commercial inspection and marine surveys. It is a representative of the Swiss-based Cotecna S.A. for Bulgaria.
