BELLA L СПАСИ ЧЕШКИ ГРАЖДАНИН

Kораб, управляван от „Варна Шипинг енд Трейдинг” се притече на помощ на бедстваща яхта на 1000 мили от американския бряг. При изключително тежки обстоятелства в първите часове на нощта на 9 юли 2008 г. бе спасен живота на самотен мореплавател.

Чешкият гражданин Павел Дробни е подал сигнала за помощ в 1:50 часа по Гринуич от бедстващата яхта „PHOENIX” . В 04:50 българско време на 9 юли 2008г., 24,000 тонния моторен кораб BELLA L, опериран от фирмата „Варна Шипинг енд Трейдинг” , който е изпълнявал рейс от остров Милос за американското пристанище Клеймонт, е получил сигнал за помощ от Спасителния Координационен Център Норфолк за бедстваща яхта на около 1000 морски мили от брега. Капитанът веднага е отклонил кораба и е започнал операция по издирване и оказване на помощ на бедстващия плавателен съд.  В периметър от 100 морски мили е нямало друг кораб, който да се отзове на сигнала за помощ.

След сложна спасителна операция, продължила няколко часа при изключително неблагоприятни метеорологични условия и пълна тъмнина е спасен едиственият член на екипажа на яхтата „PHOENIX” - Павел Дробни. На чешкият гражданин е оказана първа помощ на борда на BELLA L, след което корабът продължил своя рейс за Клеймонт.

Greetings from the United States Coast Guard Amver offices in New York City,
Recently the M/V BELLA L (IMO number 7609752), was diverted by the United States Coast Guard Atlantic Area Rescue Coordination Center to assist the sailboat Phoenix which was taking on water approximately 800 nautical miles east of Atlantic City, NJ.  The master and crew of the BELLA L agreed to divert the vessel and upon arriving on scene braved difficult weather conditions to rescue the lone sailor. These actions are to be commended and do not go unnoticed.  Your company's willingness to participate in the Amver system is testimony to ensuring that no call for help goes unanswered.  I would be interested in any photographs and video the crew may have taken of the rescue operations so we could include them on our website or an upcoming edition of the Amver bulletin.  I also hope you can provide a photograph of the vessel and a narrative of the rescue operations from the Master.

Czech mates
A Czech solo yachtsman had a lucky escape in rough Atlantic seas after a Bulgarian ship came to his rescue.
Pavel Drobny was picked up about 1,000 miles from the US shore by the 23,540-dwt bulker Bella L after running in to difficulty.
He sent out a mayday signal in the early hours of Wednesday which was picked up by a coordination centre in Norfolk. The message was then relayed to the 1979-built open-hatch carrier which was US bound in the area.
Crew of the St Vincent & Grenadines-flagged Bella L, which is operated by Varna Shipping & Trading, spent hours performing a risky rescue operating in adverse weather condition but eventually managed to salvage the Czech sailor.
The bulker was heading from Greece to the Delaware port of Claymont when it diverted course to help the stricken yachtsman. It has now continued its journey to the US where it is expected to dock on Saturday.
